We recently completed a complete renovation of the flat roof of a house in Veldhoven. The existing bitumen roofing was outdated and in need of replacement. During the work, we also made improvements to improve drainage and appearance.
The work began with the careful removal of the old bitumen roof covering. We also temporarily relocated 60 m² of roof gravel, which we neatly replaced after completion. The roof was then partially insulated to create a better slope and prevent water retention.
The roof was then re-covered with bitumen. Depending on the section, either hot-rolled or self-adhesive material was used – clearly recognizable by the overlaps and smooth finish. Roof penetrations and existing skylights were meticulously re-installed and waterproofed.
Finally, new lead was installed in the facade to ensure a durable connection between the roof and wall, which will help prevent leaks in the future.
Activities:
- Removing old bitumen roof covering
- Temporarily moving 60 m² of roof gravel
- Slope correction with partial roof insulation
- Applying new bitumen roof covering (fire roller/self-adhesive)
- Neat finish around roof penetrations and skylights
- New facade lead installed
Thanks to this renovation, the roof of the house in Veldhoven is once again perfectly protected against rain, wind, and stagnant water – with a neat finish that will last for years.
