We recently carried out a complete chimney removal for this home in Rotterdam. The existing chimney was no longer in use and took up unnecessary space on the roof. To prevent future problems such as leaks and wear and tear, it was decided to completely demolish the chimney.
After removing the chimney, we expertly rerouted the existing central heating pipe and professionally sealed the resulting roof surface. This involved the use of roof boarding, battens, waterproof membrane, and new roof tiles, ensuring the roof is once again completely wind- and watertight.
Thanks to this work, the house once again features a neatly finished roof without an unused chimney, and the roof is optimally protected against the elements.
Work performed
Demolish chimney:
The existing chimney has been completely removed down to below roof level. All excavated materials have been properly disposed of.
Rerouting central heating pipe:
The existing central heating exhaust has been modified and relocated to a suitable location so that it continues to function correctly after the removal of the chimney.
Sealing the roof after removing the chimney:
The resulting hole in the roof has been expertly sealed with new roof boarding, battens, and waterproof roof membrane.
Installing new roof tiles:
The open space has been finished with new roof tiles that connect to the existing roof, creating a sleek and uniform whole.
Neat finish and inspection:
All work has been carefully inspected and finished so that the roof is once again completely watertight and durably protected.
